Date with Hubs
I have been off this whole week from work and am loving it! Kris is off on Mon/Tues so he and I headed to a matinee to see The Blind Side. We had not been to the movies in forever, so we wanted to take advantage of our time together (while Jacob was at daycare, HEHE!).
We loved the movie like everyone else, and recommend seeing it if you get a chance.

Christmas Recap
He loved the drum set
We had to bust out a kids table this year.
We had a little photo shoot. Not sure why I'm laughing so hard. Look at Kate's sweet smile.
Our attempt at a family photo. Jacob would not look up for anything. He was not taking his eyes off his new Thomas train. He has gone to bed with it and taken it to every nap too.
Great times, good memories.
p.s. Kris surprised me with a gift - an iPOD Nano. He said since he got a new truck, I should get a gift too. I love it!

Christmas Baking
Here is Jacob in the Santa apron
Here's Kate in the Gingerbread apron, but she would not wear the hat. Still cute!
I'm sorry I didn't have an apron for Lukie. He's still cute as ever! He looks so big in this picture!
Jacob wanted to eat the cookie so bad instead of decorating. He couldn't contain himself, he took a little bite.
I could not get both of them to look at me, oh well.
I wished I had taken a picture of the cookies after decorating, they were cute. Hope they had fun. I'll be sweeping up sprinkles till Spring.

Company Christmas Party
Each employee drew a number then picked out a gift to open. My first gift was stolen, I then was the lucky one who opened this number. I give you Rita Rims Party Cups. As you can see, some of them were gag gifts.

Watchin Lukee
He got a second wind and played real good around the house. He was very intrigued by the Christmas decorations. I just had to tell him no 20 times. Not bad compared to the 100 I tell Jacob.
*look at his handprints on the fireplace
He makes me laugh. Here he is standing on a truck. Little short legs.
Later I found him laying by the front door. Not sure if he wanted to go home or if he was getting tired.
I got him nice and snug to watch Dora with Jacob, and I knew it wouldn't be long before he was out. Love a sleeping baby!!
We had fun with you today Luke. Come back soon!! We love you!!!

I forgot to take my camera with me, so this is with my phone. I missed getting pictures of his many rides on the 4wheeler and him playing with my cousin's dog. Oh well... I hope everyone enjoyed their holiday.
p.s. hello Shelby & Amber if you're reading this! :)

Something's Missing
We also put a Pampers on him at night before bed so he doesn't leak. We've done this forever...
This morning, Kris gets Jacob out of bed and starts to dress him. He unzips his PJs and sees no diaper. Yes folks, Kris took Jacob's Parent's Choice diaper off, put socks on him and zipped him back up without a Pampers.
Jacob went to bed commando!
Father of the Year, Kris!
p.s. Jacob was dry this morning, thank goodness! And yes, we need to potty train - I know this.

Christmas Decor
This is Jacob's 3rd Christmas, but this is the first year that he's really noticed the tree. The last 2yrs he never once touched the tree, this year I cannot keep his hands off of it. He is OBSESSED! He wants to touch every.single.ornament. Look at the excitement building up in this picture, so much that he is gritting his teeth!
Beth and Kate popped by later that afternoon. We were putting the finishing touches on the tree, and Kate wanted to help. She was so good about suggesting where to put the final ornaments. Look at Kate still in her Sunday best - such a cute dress, and notice her necklace. I on the other hand look like I've been hit with the ugly stick. This is what I call the "I wear makeup, fix my hair every day for work, so not today Sunday" look.
I would show a picture of the entire tree, but I cannot find my tree skirt. Where could it be, and why isn't it with the rest of the Christmas decorations?! Either it's by itself somewhere or I have a whole other box of decorations hiding somewhere.
Hobby Lobby is my FAVORITE store for seasonal decorations! Last year after Christmas, they had their Christmas 90% off. This little number was $99.99! Who would pay full price for this?! Not me, I got it for $9! BOO-YAH!
These 2 and the sled came from there too, but I've had them for a while. Still one of my faves!
Santa plate and another cute little Santa
Here is a $5 cookie jar I got at the WM Associate Store
I thought this guy was cute
What's that... another Santa
Can you tell I like the plush? :)

Special Edition - Way Back When-esday
Timeline: 1996
Age: 22
Thank you to all the veterans who are serving and who have served our country. Kris entered into the Navy after high school and served 5yrs as a Marine Medic. I did not know Kris during this time, but he's got some great stories to tell. I am so proud of him for this accomplishment!!
I dug out some of his memorabilia from his Navy days.
Look how young he looks. As he would say, he's a hot mammer jammer. :)
He's so serious in this one.
His dog tags.
Oh, and a BIG shout out to my brother-in-law John! Today is his birthday! Happy Birthday John! He's gonna kill me for posting this pic. :) The story behind this picture is it was taken a couple of days before my wedding, which John was in, and he emailed me this picture with the subject line "new look for the wedding". I did not want this fu manchu in my wedding album, so he got rid of it, thank goodness. :)

Happy Halloween!
However, around late Tuesday I got the sniffles which then turned into a full-blown allergy attack. But that was soon followed by a crazy roller coaster fever and body aches and cough and you name it. I thought I was getting better Thursday, but I woke up today and thought I HAVE to go to the doctor.
I was at the clinic at 8am and there was already a line. Luckily I only waited 10mins if that. They did a flu swab and it was confirmed type A FLU! Uh hello, H1N1!! They put a mask on me, which I had to wear walking back out through the lobby but I didn't care. I could not believe that! I actually feel better than I have all week, so hopefully the worst is over.
Oh, and on top of this, my precious niece Kate was admitted to the hospital on Tuesday with Type B Flu and spent too many days/nights there. Happy to report she's home now.
What a whirl wind week! Ready to be completely healed! And hopefully not give anything to Jacob or Kris.
Oh, in the midst of all of this, we tried on Jacob's Halloween costume and it's too tight and too short. However, I didn't really mind because I knew that we probably wouldn't be doing Halloween this year since there's been sickness in our house. But the thought of not having at least a picture of him in costume for the files seems inconceivable. I may go to Walmart and get one once their marked down (HA!).
At least one of us will be in costume. :)
