Happy Halloween!

We started off this morning with some halloween-shaped pancakes for breakfast.

Then off to school.

I came across this on Pinterest, and thought I'd give it a shot.
Disclaimer:  I have never frosted a cake, as in ever!  Clearly it shows.
But the kids loved it, and that's good enough for me :)
  whoops, forgot the mouth

Jacob's class had a halloween party, and I was in charge of pictures.

Loved watching him work

Loved all the costumes

Then we went over to Meme's house

Then we went over to Beth's house to trick-or-treat with Kate & Luke.
tried to get Levi in this picture, but he wouldn't go anywhere near Luke's mask.

It's Super Levi!

Kate being a great helper, as always.

Then we came home and had a piece of the Frankenstein cake.
As if they needed more sugar.  I thought they looked so cute in their costumes at the table.

After a bath, we turned our outside lights on and let Jacob pass out some candy.  He LOVED it!!
Bless his heart, he was watching for trick-or-treaters.

I got the cutest video of both Jacob and Levi passing out candy, I will upload soon.

Zzzzzzz

Since Jacob is on this stuffed animal kick (which he calls his plushes.  not sure where he got that), he wants to sleep with all 17 of them every night.

The other night I tucked him in, and said he could have 3.  So he picked the 3 he wanted, and laid the rest on his table.

Before heading to bed, I peaked in on him and found him like this.

1).  at some point, he got out of bed and brought all of them back to his bed
2).  but what surprised me the most - he covered himself back up!!  This has to be a first!
If you recall from this post, he rarely uses covers

The other day Levi took an extra long nap, so Jacob and I went into his room to wake him up so he would sleep that night.  But before doing so, I had to grab the camera :)

Love my sleeping babies!

Recent Phone Pics

Saturday morning Jacob's school had muffins with mom, dounuts with dad and granola with grandparents.
He also got to paint a pumpkin.

Meme and Papaw went with us.
Normally Kris works Saturdays but he took the day off, so I'm glad he got to go with us.
you should've seen Levi running the hallways like he owned the place!

Afterwards, Jacob showed everyone where his classroom is.

This was outside in the hallway

I took Jacob to the dentist the other day.  He did OK, but did not like the taste of the toothpaste.
The dentist, who has been practicing for 50yrs!, was the sweetest man.

I came upon this the other day and thought Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane was in town..
anyone born after 1980 may not know that reference

I have been letting my hair grow out forever, however, I'm not sure why.
I've always had short hair, but I also always wanted longer hair so I could curl and do fun things with it, even though I have zero talent when it comes to fixing hair.  I can barely manage a ponytail.  It's finally passed my shoulders and I thought I would try to use a curling iron on it.
I have lots of practice to do!!!  I'm hoping to get better at it, so I won't be so tempted to chop it off.
I sent this picture to Beth, my sis.  She commented on my awkward smile :)

Kris wasn't home when I did this, and wouldn't you know, when he got home it took about an hour for him to say something!
I kept biting my tongue, anxiously waiting.
And I believe his comment was, "like your hair ladybug.  looks like Farah Fawcett."

New to Us

I participated in the Rhea Lana consignment sale this year and today was their half off sale so I went to take a look at what was left.

Levi is currently obsessed with Thomas the Train.  I saw a pair of Thomas pajamas and knew I had to get them for him - $1.75, score!  Oh, and the Thomas chair he's sitting in?  Meme found that on consignment for around $3 about 4yrs ago.  All the kids have loved it and now Levi does too!

He brings us all the Thomas books we own, and wants us to read to him all.day.long.

And what is he watching on tv?  "Who's that puffing down the tracks?  It's Thomas!!  Hello Thomas!!"  (i've seen it too many times, turn it off!!!)
Look at that little finger!

And Jacob loves the movie Kung Fu Panda so when I saw Poe for $1, I had to get him.
he's sitting next to his left

Remember when we got Plex?   (3yrs ago)
i can't get over how light Jacob's hair was!  even though it's wet in the pic above.

He got Buzz last year for Christmas.

And last summer, I introduced him to Puppy Dog :)

He actually plays with all these stuffed animals.  He has a great imagination!
He has a small table and chairs, and lately he's been throwing one of them a birthday party, and he puts them all in the chairs and asks me if I want to come to the party :)

oh, and sidenote:  to wash the stuffed animals, which I always do if their used, i put them in a pillow case and toss in the washer/dryer.  i guess you could without it, i just don't want to risk it tearing/ripping.  just thought i'd share...

have a great weekend!

Family Photo at the Pumpkin Patch

Our traditional family pumpkin patch photo.

2008 & 2009

2010&2011

And this year's

So Beth and I were talking about how old the kiddos were our first time here.  And we all thought it was before Luke was born, but we were wrong.
He was there, too.  At just 4mos  :)

Here are Kate and Jacob that same year (2008)

We didn't make it the year Jacob was born (2007), but we did go to a local church who was selling pumpkins and we plopped the kiddos (babies) in between them :)
where did my bald baby go??

And can you believe that sweet baby girl is 6 today!?
Happy Birthday Kate!  We love you bunches!!

Off to the Pumpkin Patch

Yesterday was our annual trip to the Right Choices Pumpkin Patch.
It's a quick 45min. drive into Missouri, and we've been lucky to have great weather each time.
Meme was in town, so she went with us and my sister's family.  We missed you Papaw!
Underneath the white tent was some delicious kettle corn!

I think I'll take this one.

Or maybe this is more my size :)

This was as good as it was going to get.

My sweet niece Kate lost another tooth while we were there :)

Sweet Luke, getting so big!

Lukey fell out of his bed the other night and landed on some toys and hurt his cheek :(
