Our Weekend

I hope you had a wonderful weekend.

Mine started off great with a play date Friday morning with a fellow blogger turned friend, Jenny and her precious 2yr old twin boys, Ben & Nate.  Please check out her blog for inspiration!  She is such a breath of fresh air!  I'm so glad the stars aligned and God allowed our paths to cross albeit the internet :)
funny sidenote:  I mentioned to Kris I was having a play date with Jenny and he had a questionable look on his face.  I said, "you know, Jenny from the blog."  :)

Saturday Meme and Papaw were in town and treated all the grandkiddos to Jump Zone.
By the looks of their little red cheeks, I'd say fun was definitely had!
you'll have to trust me as I didn't take any pics

Then that night Beth asked me to join her at the Rogers Little Theater for a showing of the musical Chicago.
I had never been to the RLT, so it was definitely a treat!

All of the performers are local and they did a really good job!
I really enjoyed watching the band as well.  Now that would be a fun gig!

My date :)
we aren't that ghostly in real life :)

Oh, and on a totally unrelated note, I came across this and it made me laugh!!
This is so me!
Have a blessed week!

Growth Chart

Over a year ago, I read this post of a great tutorial on how to make your own over-sized growth chart, a knock-off of the one sold at Pottery Barn.

I immediately thought that would be so cute to make.
But for whatever reason, I just tucked it away and never made my own.

Then recently, a fellow blogger Shannon made hers, and I decided, "ok, now I'm doing this!"
And when I say me, I mean Kris (and me).  ha!

Another blogger, Erin, made hers and was so sweet to let me know what font she used for her numbers when I asked. :)

Thank you ladies for giving me that little push, I'm so happy how it turned out!
please look away from Jacob's messy bedroom :)

And thank you Lovebug for your help, as always!!

Getting too big!

Where is my baby!?!
look at that farmer's tan :)

Wonder if they'll surpass their daddy who is 5'8" ?  :)

Silly Sleeper

I couldn't sleep the other night, so I got up and went to the living room.
And like I always do, I peaked into Jacob's room because he sleeps with his door open and a bright night light, so I can easily make him out.  This kid never sleeps in the right position.
No pillow, no covers...
I noticed I cut his head off, and I started to take another photo, but he started moving, so I darted :)
One of these days I'll do a collage of all his crazy positions. :)

Jacob Calling All Engines!

We did it again....  filmed ourselves :)

It's his newest thing, and he asks multiple times to roll camera! :)
I know I will be glad I did this when he's older and I have these to look back on and smile!
If you're interested, go here :)
*special guest appearance by little brother Levi :)

p.s.  don't ask how he knows all of these, i wonder that myself! :)

Splash Park Fun!

Beth asked if I could watch Kate & Luke for a couple of hours this morning, and since this was one of Kris' days off, I asked if he wanted to take them all to the splash park.  :)
So off we went!

Then about 10:45am, Lukey asked if we could have a picnic.
Beth said he looooooves a picnic! :)

My little man

Lukey was trying to get Jacob to look up and smile :)

Sweet Kate :)

Then we came home and a kid movie was on tv, so they stopped what they were doing and took a seat.
Do they look a little tired? :)

Him too :)

Good times!

Our almost kindergartener

In 34 short days, Kris and I will be walking our first born, Jacob, into his kindergarten classroom.
I'm teary-eyed just envisioning that day.  I would've never described myself as sappy or mushy, but then I had kids.  :)
I now cry at commercials.  Have you seen this one?  Tear jerker!!
I mean I go into the ugly cry!

I've been trying to reminisce those first few weeks after we brought Jacob home from the hospital.
I remember walking through the door, laying him down in his crib and watching him sleep.
Then I said, "now what?"  :)

His time as an only child seems like many moons ago.  Feels like he's always been a big brother.
He makes me laugh like no one can, he makes me shake my head too.  ;)
He has crazy hair, a tender...

yet stubborn heart :)
But I know he was fearfully and wonderfully made!

Today he said a couple of things I want to remember:
He asked me to play with him, and before I could even answer, he said, "I love being with you."
AHH, melt my heart!!

Later I was running to Walmart and I asked him if he wanted to go with me (or stay home with Kris).
He said, "I'll stay here and watch the house."
Thank you Mr. Big Boy!!

momma loves you forever and always

Misc. Monday

*Saturday night Kris and I had a date night. Beth was kind enough to watch the boys!

She texted me these pictures and of course made me smile!

*She also watched them for me a couple of weeks ago while I attended a Thirty-One party.  So nice having my sister 5miles from me who is always eager to lend a hand.
Captain Levi! :)

*I wonder what he's thinking here :)

*Found him on my unmade bed watching tv like this

*And on a depressing note, my car has decided to die.  I'm talking, won't stay started, makes crazy noises, every light on the dashboard is lit.  Who knows what's wrong with it!
But Kris is determined to find out!
Glad we had the grease pit installed :)
Jacob wanted in there with his daddy so bad!  Instead he settled for watching from above.

**Update:  it was the alternator.  a new one has been installed and she is good to go.
I hope! :)
Sure is nice to be married to a handyman!

Levi's got rhythm!

We are late on The Big Bang Theory bandwagon, but we love it and are quickly catching up.
TBS runs back-to-back episodes a lot, and we watch every one, so Levi is used to hearing the theme song.  Each time he does, he drops what he's doing and does this :)
Enjoy!

4th fun & Videos

Last week on the 4th, the boys and I headed over to my parents' house (up here) for a cookout (Kris had to work).  My sister, Beth, and her bunch met us too.

A dessert my mom made for the kiddos was red/blue jello with cool whip - so festive.
Here is my nephew Luke.  So cute and getting so big!

And Levi enjoying some too!

All the grands with their patriotic shirts!

And on a very random note... Jacob has been obsessed with watching YouTube videos of Thomas the Train and the movie Cars.  However, they are not actually episodes from the show/movie itself...  they are homemade videos of little boys rolling their cars/trains around their house.  Basically someone is filming a kid playing with their toys.  And my Jacob loves it!!  And surprisingly, there are LOTS of them to watch.
He would sit for hours content as could be watching them.

So the other day he lined up his collection of Cars and asked if I wanted to come take a look.
As I was walking into his room a thought hit me, "grab the video camera."
So I did, and I filmed him for ELEVEN minutes showing me his Car collection.
To say he was excited was an understatement!

The only thing I told him was to tell me his name, age and where he lived.  So that's how he started the video and one by one, he showed me every single car, told me their name and what they did.
Once he was finished, he said on his own, "that's my collection, thanks for watching."
I wonder where he's heard that?  :)

So I uploaded his video to YouTube and he is now watching himself.
Is that not the funniest thing you've ever heard?   :)
I had to take a pic!
Look at the smile on his face :)
And can you see him on the screen?
So funny!

And if you have 11mins to spare, here is a link to the video :)

Happy 4th of July!

From my little firecrackers!!!

Fireworks at the Crosses

We attend Cross Church and this past Sunday they had fireworks at the crosses.
I love being in the worship center and looking out the wall of windows at the crosses.
They are massive!  When you are flying into the airport, you can easily spot them from the sky :)

Before the fireworks, they were 90 people who were baptized at the foot of the crosses!  So amazing!
There was an estimated 8,000 people who came and filled the surrounding areas to watch the fireworks.

We met our friends David, Melody and Caleb there and get settled into a nice spot.
There were food vendors and live music.  It was good, quality family time.
Even though chasing Levi became a tad exhausting :)
who is eating in this picture.  only way to contain him!  ha! :)

A rare moment - sitting still!  I promise they were happy to be there :)

Beautiful sky!

Finally it was time for the show!

David's parents were there, and both Caleb and Jacob took a seat in their lap :)

While Levi hung on to dear life with his kung-fu grip :)

Hope everyone has a safe and happy 4th!!
