Silly Levi

Our little man makes us smile!

We see changes in his little personality everyday.

He is such a mess, but in a good way :)

He is definitely a little monkey!

We love him so!

Giving Soccer a Shot!

Jacob is playing soccer for the first time this season.
Friday night was the kick off and we met his coach and got his uniform.

Saturday morning was his first practice.  HA!
Wonder if this indicates how the season will be :)

My mom is in town, and she's been so kind to watch the boys for us.
Levi spent the night with her Friday night while we were at the soccer open house and she had him Saturday morning while we were at practice.  That helped so much!!

Jacob has had a great first week at school.  He actually said he was sad to leave school each day.  :)
Levi has been walking around the house asking, "where's Jayjup?"  :)

He plays exactly how Jacob did at this age.  Loves to line up cars, trains, etc...

Love my boys!

First day of 1st Grade!

Today Jacob starts 1st grade.  He has been so excited the last few days!
Last night he read this book to us.

I just love Levi's excitement :)
Afterwards we all held hands and prayed for a wonderful school year.

Last year we had a back-to-school breakfast, so I thought we'd keep the tradition rolling.

I found so many cute {free} printables on Pinterest.

Kris asked how many 1st grade signs do I need.  Can you have too many? :)

He loved the little school buses.

He was so excited when he walked into the kitchen.  And Levi was too! :)

This small touch will be inside his lunchbox.

Ready to go!

But first, the obligatory sign picture :)

1st grade!!

I got a little teary eyed saying goodbye.  I asked for a hug and he didn't hesitate.  :)

And because momma loves a comparison:
What a difference a year makes!

Be blessed Jacob.  I hope your little light shines!

Around here

Last Thursday was 'meet the teacher' at Jacob's school.  Or in his case, meet the substitute.
His real teacher is currently on maternity leave and won't be back till November, so we met the sub, who was super sweet.  Ironically, Jacob's kindergarten teacher had a baby last February.
I wonder if he thinks all his teachers will have babies :)

Friday we met up with a few friends at a local park for a picnic.  The weather has been gorgeous!!

Here he looks like a teenager to me!
He will be a big 1st grader on Monday.  :(

But sometimes I look at him and can still see a tiny glimpse of my baby :)

Now look at this monkey!

prior to haircut

He is something else! :)

I know I sound like a broken record, but I love being a boy momma!
I think there is just something special about a mother and her son(s).
I hope to hold a special place in their hearts as they do in mine.

5 on Friday

Today I'm linking up with Darci and participating in my first:

1).  Finally joined Instagram - a tad behind, I know.  Follow me at thekeymoments
I did not need to join another form of social media, but it's fun, and I intend to use it for all the 'fluff'.  And hope to keep the blog with the more noteworthy material :)

2).  Oh, and download A Beautiful Mess App for cute editing!  Rhonna Designs is fun too!

3).  Last Night I attended a ladies friendship dinner at church and the guest speaker was Marian Jordan - founder of Redeemed Girl Ministries.  She was so encouraging and spoke about having Christian girlfriends and how to keep those friendships Godly.  Just what I needed to hear!

4).  I cannot believe next week is our last full week before school starts.  Open house is Thursday night, and Jacob is excited to meet his new teacher and see his classroom.
I found the cutest {free} customizable name tags for his backpack and lunchbox.
Download here if you have a Star Wars fan!
there was only room for his name and phone # on the front, so on the back I used our return address stamp.  Then I laminated and whole punched.  Easy peasy!

5).  Our church has been singing a new {to me} worship song and I find myself singing it throughout the day.  (Don't you love it when God puts a song in your heart?)
Have you heard Here for You?  Here is Matt Redman's version that's so good!
I just love it, but my favorite part is around 3:17  :)  Please listen if you have a moment.

Have a great weekend!!

Weekend Recap

Kris took Friday & Saturday off from work, it was nice to have him home with us.
We started Friday Night Lights a couple of weeks ago, and finished Friday night.
Appropriate, eh? :)
We flew through the 5 seasons.  We loved it!  I don't know why we didn't watch it when it was on TV.  I will say, I had to watch about 4 or 5 episodes to be hooked.
Now I'm ready to join a support group, I hate that it's over!

Saturday was Joshua's 1st birthday party!  Melody threw the cutest party!  I wish I had a picture of his cake.
I do have this one of the cute birthday boy!

Saturday night we had a few friends over.  Kate (my niece) took this picture of Levi and our friends' little girl.  :)

We made a countdown chain for school.

Jacob says he's excited for school to start.  I hope it stays that way!

Think he needs a haircut?

I found him playing while singing a song he learned at VBS.
I had to video!  So so sweet!
Here's Levi singing, "I wanna be like Jesus."

That sure is my prayer little man!!
