Date with Hubs

I have been a terrible blogger, seems as though I don't have much to share that's interesting.

I have been off this whole week from work and am loving it! Kris is off on Mon/Tues so he and I headed to a matinee to see The Blind Side. We had not been to the movies in forever, so we wanted to take advantage of our time together (while Jacob was at daycare, HEHE!).

We loved the movie like everyone else, and recommend seeing it if you get a chance.

Christmas Recap

We had a wonderful Christmas, and it was nice to see some snow. We hosted this year, and so my parents and the Pittman family came to our house for lunch. We had a wonderful spread and later open gifts (we drew names, always fun to see what everyone gets).
Kris and I didn't exchange gifts this year since we bought the house and did the upgrades. We figured that was enough for us. Jacob had a few gifts to open before everyone came over. He was excited to see the presents, but would bring every one to Kris and ask him to open - after he got comfortable in his lap.

He loved the drum set

We had to bust out a kids table this year.

We had a little photo shoot. Not sure why I'm laughing so hard. Look at Kate's sweet smile.

Everyone with their gifts.

Our attempt at a family photo. Jacob would not look up for anything. He was not taking his eyes off his new Thomas train. He has gone to bed with it and taken it to every nap too.

Great times, good memories.

p.s. Kris surprised me with a gift - an iPOD Nano. He said since he got a new truck, I should get a gift too. I love it!

Christmas Baking

Beth brought her munchkins over today to decorate Christmas cookies. Last year after Christmas, I found these cute children's aprons at Walmart for like $2 - so cute!

Here is Jacob in the Santa apron

Here's Kate in the Gingerbread apron, but she would not wear the hat. Still cute!

I'm sorry I didn't have an apron for Lukie. He's still cute as ever! He looks so big in this picture!

Jacob wanted to eat the cookie so bad instead of decorating. He couldn't contain himself, he took a little bite.

I could not get both of them to look at me, oh well.

I wished I had taken a picture of the cookies after decorating, they were cute. Hope they had fun. I'll be sweeping up sprinkles till Spring.

Reindeer Sighting 2009

Last weekend, my mother-in-law knocked on the door with a present for moi. Look at my new Christmas card holder. Don't you just love it? At first I was like... uh... thanks. But the more I look at, the more it grows on me.

Bring on the cards!

Meeting Santa

Once again, Jacob surprised us and walked to Santa with no problem. It was quick and painless, I hope it continues for years to come.

Company Christmas Party

Friday night was my company's Christmas Party. Kris and I were happy to get out of the house together while Meme and Papaw watched Jacob. We were out pretty late, I think we got home around 10:30pm. :)

Each employee drew a number then picked out a gift to open. My first gift was stolen, I then was the lucky one who opened this number. I give you Rita Rims Party Cups. As you can see, some of them were gag gifts.

We had fun, and it was nice to get out of the house.

Random

We had a Christmas Dinner / Gift Exchange with the Pittmans, the Winberrys, and Kirk last night. I got a gift card to PF Changs (YUM) and Kris got the Shamwow. You never know what this group will give. And ironically, 2 Snuggies made an appearance. Not sure if the people who received them were totally excited. :)

On a different note, this is how Jacob watches TV.
After a bath, he saw me grab the camera and immediately starting saying "cheeeeeeze".

Repeat

So you may recall this post from last year. Well Jacob is still able to wear his big green coat, and when we're done zipping it up, he immediately puts his hands in his pockets-so cute. That hat is also from last year. Glad we're able to go another winter in them both.

Tree Time

I gave up and replaced my MIA tree skirt. I will probably find it tomorrow now that I've made this purchase. Oh well, at least it was half off.
I think next year I will invest in some monogrammed stockings. I think it will look more adult and uniformed, instead of these that are going on 5yrs old.
Also, you may notice I don't have a star or topper. I actually haven't had one in years, because I could never find one that I like. But I know it doesn't look complete without it.
So there's the Key Tree. :)
