Too quiet

When Jacob is too quiet in his bedroom, we know he's up to something. He normally only gets a passy when he goes to bed, but he has found the drawer we keep them in (which we will now need to hide) and he also got into the box of Qtips. Now that he is playing more in his bedroom, we need to remove the hazardous materials. hehe

My Week

So I started my new job this week. And I'm very thankful for this opportunity especially in this economy. The people have made me feel so welcome. It's a young group of people, and I'm excited to get to know them and make new friends. I need to ask if any of them have blogs. :)

There are just a couple of downsides with this position:
  • It's in Fayetteville off Dickson St, not an easy commute. I'm trying to find the shortest way. I drove 266.1 miles this week.

  • With the above mentioned, I have to take my lunch with me. This is definitely a first for me. I have been going home for lunch for almost 12yrs or out occasionally with friends. Hopefully I can adjust quickly.

  • Oh, and I'm now getting up around 5:45am. Yikes!

Luckily this is all temporary, because we are moving into a new office in Rogers off the Pinnacle exit come June 1st. The countdown is on!

Once I'm home and dinner has been cooked, and Jacob has been fed and bathed, it's practically time for bed. So I have been neglecting the blog somewhat. But hopefully I can find my groove soon. Hope everyone had a good week!

Jacob and I after a long week.

Retail Me Not

A coworker at my new job told me about a neat website for coupons and deals for retailers. Might want to check here for a deal before that next purchase.

First Haircut!

We broke down and got Jacob his 1st haircut today. He probably could've gone a little longer, as he was just starting to get the little curls to flip up - which is always so cute. We took him to the same lady who does my hair - she actually did mine, Kris' and Jacob's today! We weren't sure how he was going to act, but once again, he surprised us. He was in the best mood and had a great time. He was talking up a storm with a constant smile on his face. Yea Jacob! We had so much fun today with you!

p.s. Once Jacob was done, he walked around the salon checking out the place. Apparently I wasn't keeping a close eye on him because he managed to find the wax and stick his hand in it. It was actually on the lowest setting so it wasn't hot at all, but it was VERY sticky. His little fingers were practically glued shut. Luckily there was some magic lotion to clean his and my sticky fingers.

Hi there

Today at lunch, Jacob was eating applesauce with his spoon. Suddenly he stopped, looked straight into the spoon and said, "Hi Jacob." So funny!

p.s. can you tell I enjoy saving a picture from the internet that relates to my post? hehe

Way Back When-esday

Dateline: February 14, 2008
Age: 11mos
*When I was working with Del, they always had their National Sales Meeting around Valentine's Day, so I would have to travel to NYC and miss the one day Kris is romantic (ha!). Last year was Jacob's first Valentine's, so I bought this shirt and made sure Kris put it on him so he would be seasonally correct at daycare, oh and to take a picture since I would be out of town. Good job Kris.

Rainy Days and Mondays Always Get Me Down

I am happy to admit The Carpenters is one of my favorite bands. I love her soothing voice, and what a range she's got (hehe). Recorded early in 1971, Rainy Days was included on the Carpenters album. Released as a single in April of that year, it became their fourth consecutive million-seller.

Birthday Party

Today we went to Nicholas' 3rd birthday party at The Little Gym, and had a great time. I was actually surprised that Jacob took to it so well, and actually played and enjoyed himself. He was clapping, singing, dancing, and running all over. Here are a few pics from our fun-filled day. Thanks Amy, Scott, and Nicholas for including us on this special day!

Towel, please?!

Today I was over at Beth's house playing with Luke, when the kid projectiled his last meal at my face. Unfortunately, my cat-like reflexes were not working. I instantly envisioned:

Small Addictions

I thought I would expose to the world my top 5 addictions. Why you ask? Because I have nothing else to blog about. They are as follows:

1). Diet Pepsi - I would probably even put this in cereal if it tasted good. I need to cut back.

2). Chap Stick - This is such an "ahhhhh" feeling when applied.

3). Laptop/Internet - I need to get a new hobby.

4). Fluffy Socks - I wear these around the house, and also to bed. If they would fit comfortably in shoes, I'd wear them all day.

5). Electric Blanket - I love crawling into a warm bed. This is a must-have during the winter.
Do you have any addictions you'd like to share?

Blueberry & Mascarpone Turnovers

Giada De Laurentiis talked me into making these for the Super Bowl Bash. Not bad I must say, and pretty easy - especially if I can do it.

So Sue Me!

So we didn't know where Jacob was for about 30seconds last night at the Pittman's Super Bowl Bash, and we found him in the backyard with no shoes on, standing in soaking wet grass (or possibly leftover snow) crying. Like that's never happened to you.
