Caught Ya!

So I've heard the 1st born can sometimes rebel after bringing home a new baby.
And boy have I noticed it!
Jacob is getting into things that he's never noticed before and some new things that intrigue him.

I give you Exhibit A:

I walked in and immediately said, "get outta that!".
Then I said, "wait, let me take your picture."  HA!  :)

I wonder if there's a maximum weight capacity?
Clearly it can hold 35lbs.

Sorry Aunt B, won't let this happen again.
Thanks for letting us borrow the Moses basket.  :)

Adjusting...

My work was kind enough to get this cute sign for our front yard.
I've been meaning to get a picture of all of us in front of it, but that hasn't happened yet.

Our sweet angel in the moses basket snug as a bug.

Yep, he belongs to me :)

We are adjusting well, better than I expected.
He is such a sweet gentle baby.

Jacob constantly asks "where's Levi?"
He is so concerned about him.  :)
Oh, and he loves to hold him.

Life is good!

Coming Home

We were finally able to come home today.
The pediatrician heard a heart murmur in little Levi, so we were waiting for the test results to come back.
They were sent to Children's Hospital in Little Rock, but the results are not in.
The pediatrician said he has no signs of any cardiac related issues, so he was comfortable sending us home.
Please pray this is nothing at all.  We know the Lord is in control.

I am so glad to be out of that hospital bed!
We used the same going-home outfit we used on Jacob.  So cute!
We also had his picture made at the hospital, and I will have to do a side by side comparison to Jacob's.
I think they could pass for twins.  :)

In the meantime, here he is.  Not all that happy.  :)

Ready to head home!

Please excuse how rough I look.
I have a feeling there will be many more days of no makeup and hair not fixed.  :)

It's good to be home.  :)

Just a few more pics of our incredible day

Here is Jacob coming into my room for the first time before I headed off to surgery.
Thanks Aunt B for such a cute shirt!

I was so disappointed that we didn't get any pictures like the below of when we had Jacob.
I think it was because we were rushed and didn't have time to think about taking pictures.
This time I knew I wanted to capture these moments.

I so wish I had a picture of Jacob like this.
But at least I have one of sweet Levi.

I was able to have this sweet moment with Jacob, but again, no picture.
This will probably always be my favorite.  :)
And yes, I bawled!!

As we thought all along, BIG BABY!  :)

Well hello there

Such a tender moment.
Almost looks like Levi is smiling at Jacob.
So sweet!

Introducing...

Levi Scott Key
6.23.10
7:40am
8lbs 10oz
20.5"

Absolutely breathtaking!!!

The surgery went so smooth - thank you Lord!
We are both doing well and getting to know one another.   :)

I think the only time he has cried or been upset was when he first entered the world.
Maybe this is a glimpse of how well-natured he will be.  :)
That is my wish.  :)

Momma's new little man

Ever so proud Daddy

Absolute favorite picture ever!!

I have been so surprised how well Jacob has taken to being at the hospital and seeing me hooked up to machines and lying in bed.  He is already showing wonderful signs of being a big brother.  He keeps calling him baby instead of Levi.  So sweet!

We are so blessed beyond  measure.  Levi is just perfect and I cannot wait to start our new life with him.

oh, and I guess I totally have no mother's intuition.
I was so convinced Levi would be Chloe.  :)
We'll still keep 'em.

Our hearts have burst!!
Love you to the moon Levi!!

Happy Anniversary Mom & Dad!!!

Today is my parents 37th wedding anniversary!
I am lovin' my dad's white tie. :)
They had a small intimate ceremony amongst family.

Mom/Dad, Meme/Papaw we hope you have a wonderful day!!

p.s.  your present from me is your 4th grandchild coming tomorrow morning! :)

Haircut

We had received a couple of comments that Jacob's hair was so long it looked like he was wearing a wig!
I was waiting until closer to the arrival of baby #2 so he would have a fresh haircut for pictures.
Should that even matter?  Probably not, but that is how my mind works!

Kris and I have tackled him the last few haircuts with the clippers.
I couldn't remember what number we used the last time, but I knew I wanted it short so we went with a 2.

After the first run through I think my heart skipped a beat.
I thought "oh no, we've scalped him!".

I don't think it's so bad, it was just a big difference between the wig and the buzz.  :)
p.s.  he was helping Kris with the tape to hang the "K" wall decal above our bed that I mentioned in a previous post.  However, there will be no K.  The swirls were way too thin and it was impossible to peal off the paper without tearing.  So waste of money.  :(

Happy Father's Day!

Jacob has such a good daddy.
His sweet face just lights up when Kris comes home.
Kris always plays with Jacob after a long 12hr. day at work.

Here he is reading Curious George to him - one of his favorites.
Jacob always asks Kris to lay down with him before bedtime.
I'm sure it's just a ploy to stay up longer, but still sweet.

We also want to wish a Happy Father's Day to Papaw.
Jacob LOVES it when Papaw takes him for a ride on the 4-wheeler.
And Papaw doesn't mind one bit making 1000 trips around the yard.  :)

Happy Father's Day Kris!  Thank you for being such a wonderful, protective Dad to Jacob and the soon to be next baby Key.

Happy Father's Day Dad!
I love you and hope you have a wonderful day!

Happy Birthday Lukie!

Today is Luke's 2nd birthday!
I cannot believe this little monkey is already 2!

I was limited on pictures of Lukie because our home laptop is ill, so these will have to do.

Beth used to make fun of me for having these wristlets on Jacob, so I put them on Luke :)

Look at those legs!  I think they're still this length!  :)

This is one of my absolute favorite pictures of them two!

Such a good cuddler at this age

Starting to walk

Photo shoot last Fall

Lovin on a cupcake

Lukie, Aunt Sissy, Uncle Kris and Jacob love you!
We hope you have a wonderful birthday!

Ladies Lunch

The sweet ladies from my office took me out to lunch today!
It was so nice to be outside of the office with them.

We went to Mimi's Cafe - yum!  Love their muffins, which came with my salad and will be enjoying tomorrow for breakfast!

Look at this cake!  DELISH is an understatement!
And the strawberries - YUM O!

Is your mouth watering?  :)

Here is hunchback of Notre Dame!

I SO wish we had gotten a group photo!
But I was too busy shoving some cake!

Thank you ladies, and thank you Kristy!

Already?

I was in Hobby Lobby this week (my fave!) and they have fall decor on the shelves!
It's not even the first day of Summer, yet.

I'm kinda diggin the K pumpkin.
Or is that cheesy?
Either way, I think I've got time to decide.

Our New Pool

It's getting really H.O.T outside and we got this pool for me Jacob.
I almost got in there myself.  He seemed to really enjoy it.
He played for the longest time in there on Sunday, so much that when we came inside to take a lunch break, he later put himself down for a nap.  We just thought he was in his room playing.  Nope, in his bed.  :)

  Happy swimming little man!

Dining Room in Progress

As I've mentioned before, I have ZERO decorating skills.
That would be on the top of my wish list - being one mad decorator!

I have very slooooowly done a little at a time since we moved into this house last September.
And even that is not saying much.

So one of the last rooms I tackled was the dining room.
It still has a long way to go, but figured I'd show the baby steps we've made.
Again, nothing spectacular!

Here is a picture I posted before with nothing on the walls (this is from Jacob's bday party):

Here is somewhat of an improvement:

One thing I've noticed is my house has a lot of browns!  So I knew I wanted to add a pop of color with the curtains.  These are from Bed, Bath, and Beyond.  I'm very happy how they turned out.

I had the metal wall decor between the windows already hung when I found the 3 large narrow ones on the wall to the right at Hobby Lobby which I really liked.
They were half price and I knew that blank wall needed something.  But that might be too much metal (?).
I've also contemplated having Kris add a chair rail or wayne's coating to the right wall.  I dunno...

I also need a center piece for the table.
Once again, clueless.  For now, there's a crystal bowl, but I just put that there.

Thanks for listening to me babble.  :)

Dance Recital

My sweet little niece Kate has been taking a dance class and last night was her recital.
All the girls were just so precious!
She did a great job and didn't completley freeze like I would have at that age.
I was so proud of her!  I wish my pictures would've come out better.

We had a mini photo shoot afterwards.  Too cute!
Love that little girl!
She is holding her flowers behind my head, but looks like I've got flowers in my hair.  :)

Afterwards we had rainbow cake to celebrate.
How neat is that?!
Cuddos to my sister Beth!

That's gotta hurt!

These pictures make me laugh.  Jacob has been coming to our bed for the past few nights, and Kris will immediately take him back to his bedroom.  I woke up the other morning and Kris was not there.
He had spent the rest of the night in Jacob's bed.

I laid there for a minute then I heard a thud.  Kris comes walking into our room and I asked what that noise was.  He said he lost his balance getting out of Jacob's bed and fell.  He fell onto his bum landing directly on Jacob's jeep.  OUCH!  Needless to say, the jeep was totaled.  :)

Wk 37 Update

So this week I am considered Full Term, and let me tell ya, I feel it!
I asked Kris just last night, "was I this miserable with Jacob?"
My little pumpkin is moving so much, which I'm very thankful for.
In fact, the other night I was trying to sleep but this little booger wanted to move every which way.
I told Kris she was trying out for gymnastics.  :)
And yes, I'm thinking "she"  :)

It is so ironic that the baby is compared to a watermelon because I am CRAVING watermelon like no ones business!!  I could eat a whole one by myself.  In fact, I'm pretty sure I have.
I'm sure it's due to the heat and I want something refreshing.
Pregnancy Highlights:

How Far Along: 37 Weeks

Size of baby: 6lbs +

Total Weight Gain: still not sure, but I'm sticking with 20lbs

Maternity Clothes: jeans/slacks are a MUST! but i've got a few shirts that are not maternity

Gender: have no idea!!  but thinking girl ;)

Movement:  indeed!  need to get it on video.  looks like i have an alien in my belly
What I miss: talking without running out of breath!  my ankles.

Sleep: it's hit or miss.  mostly miss

Best moment this week:  knock on wood, Jacob grasping the concept of potty training!!
He's done so good, I'm so proud of him.  That's another post itself.

What I am looking forward to: Hearing the words, "it's a _____!"

Love you to the moon sweet baby!  See you soon!  :)

Good Times

Once again, in his "position"...

We were on lock down Sat-Mon for the 3day potty challenge, and by the end of day 3 we were all ready to climb the walls.  We drove around just for a little bit to get outside our 4 walls, and maybe get ice cream.
Jacob didn't nap Monday, so this was him before too long.
{taken from phone}

I hope I don't jinx myself by saying this, but it's actually been easier than I expected.
I always expect the worst, and yet he continues to amaze me.
We're proud of you Daydub - he told me this is his new name :)
