Refreshed & Renewed

This was the weekend I went to the Beth Moore Conference in Little Rock.
To say I was blessed would be an understatement.
Man, it was exactly what I needed at this time in my life.
As Beth Moore said, "God brought you here."
Amen!!

FULFILL YOUR MINISTRY was the theme for the weekend.
She listed 7 statements to achieve this and since this blessed me so much, I wanted to share with you:
1).  Adopt a succinct life goal
2).  Acquire the appropriate tools
3).  Endure the hard for the sake of the good
4).  Embrace the necessity and complexity of community
5).  Accept God's willing & healing
6).  Entrust yourself to a divine "so that"
7).  Always and forever, come what may, Keep the Faith

We studied II Timothy Chapter 4.  A wonderful read I recommend!
If I could talk to Beth Moore, I would tell her that everything she said is exactly what I needed to hear.
And yes, "God brought me here."
I'm so excited for my future and my family's future.  I had the best time with Beth and Melody.
We had a special moment at the conference I will never forget.
If Beth Moore ever comes to your area, please go see her.  You will thank me.  :)
I intend to see her every chance I get.

I hate my little purse camera, it takes terrible pictures.  Oh well.

Thank you Lord for your Holy Spirit that poured over me.

My baby boy

Levi was in the best mood after waking up from his nap, so I grabbed the camera.
I love Jacob's his shirt.  It says "I still live with my parents"  :)
He only had one nap, so he was tuckered out after his last bottle.

Weight Loss Challenge Week 2

Weight Loss Challenge

Today is the first weigh in for the weight loss challenge.
I was a couple of days late to join the bandwagon, but I've been trying to eat better and exercise for a few weeks now.

EXERCISE
This week I did the Shred DVD 3 times, walked around the neighborhood, and rode the bike around the neighborhood.  Yes, I said bike, a mans bike at that.  My tush is still hurting, TMI I know!
I think I will look into purchasing my own womans bike.
The Shred is going GREAT!  Still on Level One, but I'm feeling it and loving it.
Oh, and I've parked in the very last spot at work too. :)

FOOD
For breakfast I am starting out with a protein shake with a Kellogs breakfast bar mid morning other mornings have been Weight-Control Oatmeal by Quaker, which I love and makes the house smell good.  :)
Lunches at work have been Campbell's Select Harvest 'Light' soups.
Dinners have been from grilled chicken, veggies, whole wheat pizza, Subway.

MOTIVATION
Of course this challenge is a motivation, and seeing the scale go down is another - I LOVE that feeling!
It's actually been fun to eat healthier.  It doesn't all have to taste like cardboard!

So my percentage of weight loss this week is:
.39%

I realize that is not much, but I WILL TAKE IT!

Way Back When-esday

Timeline:  circa 1976
Age:  10mos ish (?)
*I'm totally guessing on the age since nothing was written on the back of the photo.
Just figured I looked about the same age as Levi. :)

Catching Up

We've been enjoying some great weather lately.
We grilled out Sunday evening, then ate outside as well.
{oh, and we gave Jacob a haircut.  he wailed the whole time.  ugh!}

I brought Levi's highchair outside so he could enjoy the weather too.
I just love this sweet baby face.

Jacob trying to squeeze into his buggy

Smile Levi

After a bath (last week), Jacob found a new place to play

This is my new view of Levi.
He is starting to pull himself up onto his feet (even though he's on his knees below).
He's getting so big.

I completed Day 2 of The 30 Day Shred.
There are levels 1-2-3.  I'm not sure when I'll make it out of Level 1.
I'm sooooooooooooooooore!!  But I love that feeling.  And another pound down.  Yea!

Weight Loss Challenge - Week 1

I came across this post and I thought how fitting for me since I wrote this post and this one!

Weight Loss Challenge

Running Backwards in High Heels and Mr. and Mrs. Smith are hosting an 8wk weight loss challenge.
My goals for these 8wks (and a lot of weeks to follow) are to go to the gym 4 times a week (between kiddos and schedules this is doable for me, just keeping it real).  I will cut out all diet soda which I should have already done, but man that's hard!! :)  And I will continue to watch what I eat and portion control.

Another small change is I will park as far away from work, grocery store, etc... to get extra steps.  I might look into buying a workout video too for the days I can't make it to the gym.  Maybe I should also look into reading a good weight-loss book.  Anyone recommend one?

For these 8wks, I would like to lose 10lbs.  I would love to say 15, but I don't want to set my goal too high.  Actually any weight I lose will make me very happy!
And I'm hoping these ladies will help!
Here's to getting healthy!!!  :)

Randoms

Just a few randoms of what's been going on around our parts...

Before giving Levi a bath, I changed his dirty diaper.  I then placed him in his crib sans diaper while I ran the bath water.  When I came back this is what I found.
{a wet bed, not a missing baby, HA!}

Speaking of his crib, I just so happened to spot this.
It's just on the inside, that's why it's taking a while to notice.

Guilty!!

Beth asked me if I wanted to get a mani/pedi after work.  Sure, I could definitely use one!
We used Shellac on our nails.  It's guaranteed not to chip for 2wks.  If so, they will correct for free.
It's a little extra, but so worth it.  Plus, I'm not one to get my nails done regularly, so I splurged this once.

I absolutely hate my shorties for toes, but here they are.
{And that is Lightening McQueen between my feet, HA}

I'm excited to see this, premieres April 26th NBC

I had two friends give birth on Monday (4/4) to precious baby boys.
And one was due March 25th, guess he wanted to be fashionably late. :)

Kris and I will be celebrating 6yrs of marriage in May in Chicago
Along with Beth&John, Melody&David and Kirk  :)
I'm excited!!  Even though it's just for 4 days, I'm thrilled to be going somewhere.
We haven't gone anywhere since having kiddos.  Oh, and this trip is sans kids too.
(I have said sans twice in this post, ha!)

Looking forward to the weekend with some great weather.
Makes me want to spring clean.
My mom always tells me if I put tennis shoes (aka sneakers) on when I'm cleaning, I'll do more.  :)
She's crazy!  But I think it's true.  :)

Playing at the Park

Saturday we met Beth and her bunch at a park that I don't think a lot of people know about.
After 10mins, we had the place to ourselves.
On Sunday afternoon, Jacob and I went back, and again, had the place to ourselves.  Score!
{Kris stayed back to watch Levi, plus Kris didn't feel too well}

Silly Kate, such a pretty little girl

Little buddies

John had some fun too

Jacob having free reign on Sunday.  He's in there somewhere :)

Just a swingin'

I have a feeling we'll be going back a lot!

Some things never change

Apparently Jacob still loves the jumperoo.  :)
I walked into the living room and found him in it, however, he needed my assistance getting out.  :)

The Bike Blues

We bought Jacob a new bike for his birthday, figured he was getting too big for the tricycle since his knees where in his chest!  Wouldn't you know it, he doesn't like it!  What?!?!
He begged for the red bike (aka tricycle).
Um excuse me, we bought this bike and you will ride it!! :)

He didn't make it out of the driveway.  He couldn't figure out how to pedal.  He was so frustrated.
The boy does not like change.  Wonder where he gets it.
I tried working with him, but since I have 0.7 seconds of patience, I said we'll try again later.

His biggest cheerleader was even trying to get him moving.

Thought we would enjoy this lovely day, but this is as far as we got.

So we left the bike and all went for a walk.

Handwriting

Saw this on another blog and thought it was a cute idea.
Just answer the following questions by writing your answers on a piece of paper.

1. What's your name/blogger name?
2. What's your blog's URL?
3. Write "The quick brown fox jumps over the lazy dog."
4. Favorite quote?
5. Your favorite song?
6. Your favorite band/singers?
7. Anything else you want to say?

I want my handwriting to be consistent, I think it's all over the place.
I should have done this on unlined paper.  Woo wee!  Now that would be scary.
I hate signing cards or writing a little message in them.  I need lines people!  :)

5 on Friday

1.  The boys and I woke up late today (8am) so I just kept Jacob home with me and Levi.
(on Fridays I work from home and watch Levi while Jacob is at daycare)

2.  I bought my ticket for the Beth Moore Conference
My sister Beth and friend Melody are going.  Can't wait!

3.  Since Levi has been under the weather this week, I haven't made it to the gym, but still proud I've kept the 5lbs off.

4.  Earlier this week I stated I joined Twitter.
Not sure if it's for me.  I feel like I'm eavesdropping on other people's conversations.

5.  I cannot wait for Ross to open in my area!  Hopefully soon!

Hope you have a wonderful weekend!

At Sam's Club.
Both boys pretty much sat like this the entire time.

On our way to Kansas City, the infamous asleep-in-the-car-seat picture.

At The Cheesecake Factory patiently waiting for our table.
Kate is holding her Princess Tiana doll and purse!

Jacob getting his birthday sundae

Sweet Luke was tuckered out after the show, fell asleep at The California Pizza Kitchen.

Meanwhile, Kate lovin' her new sunglasses from Meme, but technically I bought :)

On our way home from KC  :)

The boys

THANK YOU so much for praying for Levi!
He has an ear infection in both ears, and on top of this, getting more teeth!
So you can imagine all the snot (sorry, no better word) we've been wiping away.  :)
He is feeling so much better since the meds have kicked in.

*********************************
(these pictures were from last week)

Levi in this position totally changes his looks, I think.

I found him this way waking up for the day.  Envision a big smile behind that bar. :)

My sweet Jacob made me a flower at school.

This little stinker can still melt my heart.

Hope I always have momma's boys :)

********************************
and I have come out from under a rock and created a twitter account.
I have heard so much about it, but never figured it was for me.
I've had a facebook account for over 2yrs, but never jumped on the twitter bandwagon.
My ID is KimberleyKey, so original I know.
I've found a couple of ya, so you'll see me as a new follower ;)
I'd love to follow more if you tweet!   Let me know.  :)
