Happy Anniversary to Us!!

To my love... Happy 4th Anniversary! That was a beautiful day, and it could not have been more perfect for us.

A few highlights I remember from that day:
  • The excitement, oh the excitement
  • The sunshine
  • My wonderful mom and sister helping me get ready and their smiling faces
  • My dad telling me I look beautiful
  • The ride in the 1940 Lincoln Convertible (to the chapel with my dad, from the chapel with my new husband)
  • The walk down the aisle
  • The kiss... and the dip!
  • Being amongst great family and friends at the reception
  • The Chocolate Fountain!
  • Kris carrying me into our home as a new family :)
I love you lovebug!!

Good times

We recently got Jacob a little backyard slide, and he really enjoys it. Probably because he's OUTSIDE! The Pittmans came over Monday night to help celebrate Meme's birthday, we grilled out and enjoyed the nice weather. Kate enjoyed the slide too. And sweet Luke took a few steps! Below are a few pictures capturing special times.

We bought some flowers to plant in a small flower bed in the backyard. Jacob enjoyed getting dirty with this daddy.

I think he is asking "what is this?"

Ready to plant some flowers!

Happy Mother's Day!

You may have already read this before, but I enjoy it every time.

Happy Mother's Day to all you wonderful moms!

Before I was a Mom, I never tripped over toys or forgot words to a lullaby.

I didn't worry whether or not my plants were poisonous.

I never thought about immunizations.

Before I was a Mom, I had never been puked on.

Pooped on.

Chewed on.

Peed on.

I had complete control of my mind and my thoughts.

I slept all night.

Before I was a Mom, I never held down a screaming child so doctors could do tests.

Or give shots.

I never looked into teary eyes and cried.

I never got gloriously happy over a simple grin.

I never sat up late hours at night watching a baby sleep.

Before I was a Mom,I never held a sleeping baby just because I didn't want to put him down.

I never felt my heart break into a million pieces when I couldn't stop the hurt.

I never knew that something so small could affect my life so much.

I never knew that I could love someone so much.

I never knew I would love being a Mom.

Before I was a Mom, I didn't know the feeling of having my heart outside my body.

I didn't know how special it could feel to feed a hungry baby.

I didn't know that bond between a mother and her child.

I didn't know that something so small could make me feel so important and happy.

Before I was a Mom, I had never gotten up in the middle of the night every 10 minutes to make sure all was okay.

I had never known the warmth, the joy, the love, the heartache, the wonderment or the satisfaction of being a Mom.

I didn't know I was capable of feeling so much, before I was a Mom.

Say what?

I must have you excuse the grammatical errors in the attached photo. Jacob's daycare had all the kids make this for their moms. It's very sweet, I understand the intent, but I have to giggle at a few spelling errors. It's still cute nonetheless.

Also, here is a recap of a conversation I had with Jacob the other day. As you will see, he was not in a good mood...
Me singing: "twinkle twinkle little"
Jacob interrupts: no star!
Me singing: "ring around the"
Jacob interrupts: no rosy!
Me singing: "little bunny" - you may not be familiar with this one, Meme sings it
Jacob interrupts: no fufu!
I of course just had to laugh. Which he didn't like either.

2nd Haircut

Yesterday I went to the beauty parlor after work to get my hair did, and I suggested that Kris bring Jacob to get his hair cut again - it was getting out of control. As you may recall, he got his 1st haircut back in February and he was in the best mood, and made things go smoother than expected. That appointment was at 10am, this one was after a full day at daycare and a drive to F'ville in rush hour traffic -not the best scenario. Jacob was a little hesitant this time around, and it took a while for him to warm up. Kris has become Jacob's new best friend, so much that he doesn't even know I exist at times. So we made Kris get in the chair and put a child's cape on so Jacob would become comfortable. It didn't take long before Jacob climbed into his Daddy's lap with a smile on his face. I think it is shorter this time than last, unfortunately, I didn't get an "after" photo. I will try to get one up soon!

This picture makes me laugh. They are twinkies! HAHA!

Bye Bye Momma

Is this not the saddest picture? When I got back to my car after dropping Jacob off at daycare, he was in the window waving at me. AHHH - just melted my heart!! Not a good picture, but that's his little head peaking out the window.

Watching Chunky Monkey

I watched Luke "aka Chunky Monkey" today while Beth and John went out of town. He truly is a sweet baby. I got a glimpse of how Jacob might react around another baby - all I can say is... jealous! Boy, he did not want to share his Momma at all! I cannot believe how much he would deliberately pick on Luke. I don't know how many times I had to say, "leave him alone".

Then there were times when they were making each other laugh, and it was so precious. They were actually playing together - so cute! Luke is so funny when he gets excited. He gets the biggest grin (with all those teeth) and starts crawling like a madman.

He loved looking out the front door. Sat there for a while content as could be. Look at those legs!

Trying to get him to wave at me.

He loved sitting in the big boy chair at the table. Cute!
And yes, Jacob has on 2 different pajamas.

Jacob was already in his crib taking a nap, so I made a pallet on the floor for Luke - picture didn't quite turn out.
Laughing from the flash of the camera. I would also say this summed up our day together! Good times Luke!! We love you!!!!

Happy 5th Anniversary to my wonderful sister Beth and brother-in-law John! What a beautiful bride Beth made, and a beautiful ceremony that I was lucky to be a part of!

Hello, anyone there?

I'm actually sitting here thinking as if I have a hundred readers and I need to be more entertaining than just posting pics of my kid. Should I feel guilty for showing off my favorite subject? Should I cut back? I'm just not creative enough to write compelling, entertaining posts. I mean for pete's sake I put the Ped Egg on here! Which I still haven't used by the way, however, I did get a professional to work on these hoofs! So I should be good for now.

Does anyone else get into a fog and not have anything to post? Why do I feel like I need to post regularly? I don't want to lose the 2 readers I have because they become uninterested in just another picture of my son.

Would you rather watch a video?
p.s. Beth, it's only 29sec. I think you have time.

Sweet Cousins

Jacob and Kate are watching their Dad's outside. Look how sweet Kate has her arm around Jacob. You also may notice that Jacob is wearing Kate's Pink Crocs, and she has on Jacob's Elmo shoes. :)

Walk to the Park

Saturday was such good weather, so after taking Jacob to get his picture made with the Easter Bunny, we decided to walk down to Bogle Park.

Here he is in the buggy. Either this hurts his ears or he likes the noise. :)

Ironically, we saw a bunny on our way to the park. Nice tulip.

Jacob enjoyed roaming around.

I like this one of him walking.

This was his expression the entire time.

Ready, Set, Out

This was Jacob once we got onto the interstate yesterday after leaving Meme's house. He was exhausted. He's doing this new thing with his arms behind his head. Typically its when we read a book to him or he's watching TV in our lap. Guess he thinks it's comfortable, not me.

Happy Easter!

Whew, what a whirlwind. We arose (no pun intended) bright and early this morning, got in our Easter Sunday best, and headed to Russellville at 8am to join Meme & Papaw at their church. Then went back to their house for a delicious lunch--thanks Meme! We had a wonderful visit with family. Sorry it was so short, we were back on the road by 3pm.

None of the kiddos wanted their picture made today, below is the best I could get.

This is Jacob in the same ears from last year that I posted in my Way-Back post this week.

This is the closest I could get both of them looking forward. Still cute!

Here is the adorable Bunny Cake Meme made for the grandkiddos. However, it was eaten by all. Thanks Meme! It was delish!

p.s. I did not forget my sweet little Luke. I remember taking a couple of pictures of him in the bunny ears, but now that I think about it, I was using John's camera. Hopefully they turned out good, and Beth will post on her blog.

Hope everyone enjoyed their Easter!

Easter Attire

Does this say spring to you?

How about with a little of this...

And a little of that...
This my friends is my selection for Easter Sunday. I know it's not typical pastel, springy colors, however, not everything looks good on me, and I'm hoping this does the trick. I actually haven't tried it on all together. Must do that tonight! Now I have to find little man something to wear. Then it will be off to get a picture made with the Easter Money, as Jacob calls it.
