Museum down the street

In our part of the state, we have the Walmart Home Office (world's largest retailer).

Alice Walton (richest lady in america?  I dunno)  founded Crystal Bridges Museum which opened in 2011.  This past Wednesday, Kris and I went (my first time) while the boys were in school.

Can you believe this is just a couple of miles from my house?!?  And free admission!!

 

It is full of American Art.

I just have a hard time believing that.

Outside there are tons of walking trails surrounding the museum. 

In the fall it's beautiful!!

 Can't wait to go back in the Spring when everything is green and beautiful!

Makes for a great photo op!!

Monday at Jacob's school was mismatched Monday so he wore a pajama top and camo pants. :)

 

And Tuesday was crazy hat day.  He's been wearing this one all winter, so we went with it.

I let Levi (and Jacob) have a beater after I made brownies :)

I was walking througout the house putting away laundry, and I walked by and noticed Levi had done a lot of the {brand new} puzzle on his own!  Impressed this momma!

That little rump in the air is Levi's! :) 

I thought this was a pretty high slide, but that didn't stop him! 

Love it when they play together :) 

The last time I was at my parents house I found this paci in a drawer. 

Made me sad :(

Beth watched the boys a couple of weeks ago, and they texted me this.  So funny! :)

Jacob's Grocery List

Every time we run out of an item, Jacob makes sure I write it down on our grocery list.

Well, he thought he would help me out and go around the house and see what we needed.

 

Here is his list :)

*apples

*muffins

*french toast

*wafers

*chili beans

*bubble bath

*bubble drops

*grape juice (my favorite!!!)

*medicine (close 2nd)

 

Oh this gave me and Kris a good laugh!! 
Sweet boy!  He tries his hardest to sound the words out before writing.

And I agree with Jacob, it should be joos!!!  :)

 

This will definitely go into his file box!



Reading Award

Jacob recently came home with this reading award.

We are so proud of him!!  He gets better every day!!

I'm amazed how much he has learned since starting kindergarten.

Yea Jacob!!

 

And when little brother saw me taking Jacob's picture, he soon followed. :)

Our God is Greater

Apparently little ears do listen, and when I heard Levi singing along {his version} of Our God is Greater by Chris Tomlin, tears instantly stung my eyes.

 

I need to make a video where you can actually see him because his little face lights up!

Valentine's Day with My Boys!

Happy Heart Day!

 

Hubby got me the cutest little book and roses. 

You know kids say the darndest things, here you can capture those sweet sayings!

(Definitely a neat little gift if you know a new mom)

Kris also took today off, so we got to spend a few hours together while the boys were in school.

 

Later I volunteered for the Valentine's party at Jacob's school.

One of his teachers came over to talk to me, and after she left I asked Jacob, "what does Ms. Poe teach?"  He said, "me." 

And that was my first entry in my new book!!! :)

 

If you didn't know by now, I'm a sucker for seasonal shirts.

He loves his big brother most days!

 

Later it was the Key's 2nd annual Valentine family pizza night!

 

We started this last year and I hope to continue our little tradition.

Pizza from Papa Murphy's, eating on our heart plates, washing it down with a little Crush :)

And if the day couldn't get any better... when I put Levi's brownie in front of him, he put his little chubby hands together and said a 2nd prayer {his version}. 

We didn't understand a word he said until he said a pefect Amen!

I almost lost it.

 

It was a such a good day!

 



Valentine's Day Prep

Let's see... I think my Valentine's Day decor went up sometime mid-January. :)

I like to enjoy it as long as possible, and Jacob sure does enjoy when I decorate. 

 

I really didn't change it up from last year. 

I hit up the local Salvation Army store, and found a couple of cute things - one being this frog (and if you know me, I am deathly afraid of frogs, so for me to buy this was quite ironic)  :)

 

I put this heart garland in the light fixture.

 

Today after school Jacob addressed his Valentine's. 

 

I searched Pinterest for a cute printable and found this one. 

 

And for a Valentine's box, we made these :)

 

What did I ever do before Pinterest?  :)

 



Crazy Animals!

It's been over a week since my social media fast ended.

I never realized how much time I spent blogging, reading other blogs, facebook and twitter.

Why can't I pour that amount of time into God's word.

Huge wake up call!!

 

Since this is our family scrapbook, I want to document a fun outing we had last weekend. 

 

We visted the local drive through safari. 

I've lived here almost 16yrs and had never been. 

 

In my car with me was my mom, Kate and Levi. 

 

In this truck was John, Beth, Luke, Jacob and my dad (Kris had to work - boo!).

 

We laughed so hard!!  It was so funny to see the animals come up so close!

 

Emus were everywhere!

 

It was a really nice day, and all the animals were so pretty.

 

 

 

Especially love these monkeys! :)

 

Later we went to a petting area.  We had bags of food, and the animals knew it!!

 

 

A goat knocked Luke down and he DID NOT like that!  :)
