Fireplace Makeover

For some time, I've wanted to change the builder-grade tile around and below the fireplace.

So last week when the boys were at my parents, I mentioned it again to Kris and he said, "OK!"
Didn't have to tell him twice!

This is after he installed new cement board and scraped all the mortar.

He installed a tile on the floor that resembles hard wood and a mosaic tile around the fireplace.
I love it!
