Halloween Birthday Party!

Yesterday was Kate's 7th birthday party!
Isn't she the cutest flapper ever!?!

The dry ice in the cauldron was a very neat effect!

Everyone was asked to dress up.
I wish Meme would've ;)

Idea found on Pinterest.
John did a great job putting these spiders together!

Another Pinterest inspiration.
I must thank my Mom for helping tape 1000 strips of crepe paper.

Here's a quick video of the dry ice in action :)
with special guest appearance, Dr. John :)

Kate, I can't believe you'll be 7 this week!
You're the next best thing to me having a daughter.
Aunt Sissy loves you bunches!!

Kites, Scouts, Fridge

It appears Fall has finally settled in - even though I wore flip flops this weekend.
I think the temperatures from here on out will be Fall'ish.

It was a beautiful afternoon a couple of Sundays ago with a small breeze, so I thought we should head to the empty field next to us to fly kites!

Jacob has his first outing (a hike) for Cub Scouts this weekend, I hope the weather is nice to us. :)
His first meeting was last Thursday at the Public Library.
Afterwards, we checked out a few books and Levi got comfy. :)

Speaking of, this little turkey is keeping us on our toes!
I wasn't going to post this, but since I print my blog, I think I'll want to show him this picture when he has problems with his own kids!  HA!
No, your eyes aren't fooling you!  You are looking at the contents of our refrigerator!
I had no idea this was happening!  Kris had already left for work, and I was sound asleep!
By the look on their face, they knew Momma wasn't happy!

And yes, my 6yr old knows better!!
However, I'm pretty certain it was HIS idea!
Just look at this face!
GUILTY!!

I don't know what I'm going to do with him!  I can definitely thank him for the gray hair!
Where did my sweet baby go?!  Please come back!

1st Grade School Pic

Who is this big kid and what did he do with Jacob?!
Please forgive this scan of his picture.
Somehow it added a crazy line!

Let's walk down memory lane :)
If you need me, I'll be sobbing in the corner!

p.s.
Look at his upcoming endeavor :)
Have you ever seen anything cuter?  ;)

Apple Fest

Like I mentioned in my last post, Jacob's school's fall festival was after school on Friday.
Since apple is in his school's name, they refer to it as Apple Fest.

They had bouncy houses, games, pony rides, and food.

Levi got to play some games, too.
Here he got the ring toss on the first try :)

He loves to spin the wheel!

Levi paying with his ticket.

I wasn't sure how Levi would do on the horse, so I only bought one voucher for the pony, I mean horse ride :)
Jacob loved it!

While sweet brother watched :)

Nothing made me laugh harder than seeing these staches!

I mean just look at this and try not to laugh!  Impossible!
I've already sent this picture off to be printed into a 5x7.  It's a framer! :)

And because I'm still learning my new phone :)

Good times!

A little of this, a little of that

Once again, I am recapping rather than posting as it happens.  Oh well....
More randomness, shall we?  :)

********

A couple of weeks ago, our church was blessed to have Kari Jobe in concert.
(I love seeing the 3 large crosses through the windows at church)

It was incredible to get to worship with her!
Thank you Meme for watching the boys for us!

Then the following weekend I attended {my 3rd} Beth Moore conference in Tulsa with some friends.
Once again, she delivered!

I would love to be in one of her personal bible studies.  She can teach the bible like none other!
It comes to life!

She came up into the crowd in our section :)
Love her!  Go see her if you can!
p.s.  I must confess...  remember my last post about waking up to find the boys painting their toys?  We'll I was at the BM conference.  Kris actually woke up to that :)

Jacob's school had Spirit Night at the nearby McDonald's this week.
A portion of the sales go back to his school, so we gladly participated :)
I wish you could've heard Levi when he saw these 2 walk out.  So funny!
#deathgriponKris

But like his Papaw, he loved the ice cream :)

Speaking of Levi, recently it's been harder to put him to bed at night.
So we decided to move his bed into Jacob's room.  They love it!
Had to capture their first night together.  So far so good.
Just have to tell them to quit talking a few times. :)

Why do boys like to put underwear on their head?!
Thankfully it's a clean pair!

It's dress like a cowboy day at school!  And I think this one is super cute! :)

He just makes my heart smile!
Especially when he brings school work home and spells his middle name as he hears it. :)

:)

Yes, that is him trying to peel and core an apple ON THE COUCH!
Never know what they'll do when I'm in the shower!  Sheesh!

Oops, I did it again.  I should make a photo album of just pictures of them sleeping :)

Making himself at home in Gymboree.

We've learn to let Levi just forego a nap.  If he falls asleep on my bed or couch we won't bother him, but we don't purposely make him lay down in his bed for one.  If so, he'd be up till 10pm or later!
We are going to be out late tonight, way past their bed time, so I told him I would lay down with him if he took a nap.
(Well, I'm in Jacob's bed)   :)

I must say I've enjoyed the peace and quiet. :)
Jacob will be home soon from school, then we'll turn around and head back for their Fall Festival.

Have a great weekend!

Oh you didn't wake up Saturday morning with your kids painting their toys?
Lucky you!

Up to Speed

This will be a hodge-podge post if there ever was one!
(I feel like all my posts are just recaps.  Oh well.)

*******

Last week we ate lunch with Jacob.
He loves that!  Meme is in town and we're going to surprise him today.
He has no idea! :)

My niece Kate is taking tennis lessons.
Is she not the cutest thing in a tennis skirt?!?!

In Jacob's Tuesday folder was this letter to my mom, Meme.
It made me laugh!

Yes I know, more sleeping pics, but this one takes the cake!
He is holding "The Story of Jesus" book.
My prayer is he always holds Jesus close to his heart!

Nutella and some sneaky boys were found in our bed.  No bueno!!

He loves wearing rain boots!  Even on the wrong feet!!

I finally put a passcode on my cell.
Never knew what the boys were doing on my phone!
However, it was always a fun surprise to see what pics (and videos!) they took :)

While Kris ran inside the store to get one thing, the boys jumped out of the car and I took their pic.
Levi wasn't having it though!  Jacob wants one of these in our yard :)

Kris and I joined our first small group at church.  Us and six other couples are doing a study together.  It's been great to meet new people and develop new friendships.  And I love that we're both in The Word!

Sorry, couldn't help myself!
I always show Jacob these the following morning and he gets a kick out of them :)

Our Weekend

Hope you had a nice weekend.  Ours started off with Jacob bringing home an award from school.
We are so proud of him!  He's definitely come a long way since last year. ;)

Saturday morning he had a soccer game.

Afterwards we headed out to the lake where Beth and her family were camping.

The weather was gorgeous!

Our friend Leslie made Beth a cute little football wreath that fit perfectly on the camper door.

Luke had a soccer game too.  Then it was back to the campsite.
He sometimes reminds me of an old man ;)

We walked down to the lake and the boys threw rocks into the water.

Can't you hear his sweet little voice saying, "here Mommy."  Love him!

Today was church then lunch with these monkeys.

Have a great week!
