Not sure what this is about, but this is Jacob's new face.
As soon as I started laughing, he started smiling.

He was watching tv so either he:
a).  is concentrating
b).  is posing
c).  is mad that I'm taking his picture.

I'm betting 'c'.  Surely he knows I need blog material.  :)

Play Time!

I got out the play mat for Levi today.
Between my sister's munchkins and my own, he's the 4th baby to use it.
Needless to say, some of the pieces are missing, so we had to improvise.
He didn't seem to mind.  :)

My Main Squeeze

I seriously have to concentrate not to squeeze too hard.

Childhood friends

My childhood friend Stephanie was in town from Virginia visiting her parents and she dropped by this afternoon with her girls.

*I got my hair cut last night.  Kris said it looks like I've got a "moms" hairdo.
Not sure if that's a compliment or not, but I am a mom so...

Hunka Hunka

I've noticed lately that sometimes Levi slightly raises the left side of his upper lip.

Almost giving him an Elvis appearance.  :)

I don't even think this picture looks like him.  

On another note, poor little guy is going through the baby acne stage.

His little face is so broke out.  

I know it's just a phase and it will pass, I just wish it would clear up.
Nonetheless, he's still handsome to me!

We put him on his belly for the first time for a nap.  Look at those feet!!

Mr. Cool!

Meme got all the grandkids sunglasses, and Jacob thinks he's Mr. Cool.

He wears them everyday on the way to daycare.  

I haven't taken him in the mornings since having Levi, but Kris says Jacob walks through daycare to his classroom with them on.  I'd love to see that!  :)

p.s.  looks like I need to get out the Windex. 

1month old... already :(

Levi today you are 1 month old.

I have tears because that went by entirely too fast.

Everyone warned me it would...

*you are the best baby.  you rarely cry, it's more of a wimper. 
I can count on one hand how many times you've had a full blown cry

*you are a fantastic sleeper!  we noticed that immediately.

your last feeding is around 11pm, then we put you down for the night.

You typically wake up between 5-6am, sometimes 7am!

*you are more and more alert each day.

I've notice you concentrate at my face when I speak to you.

and when I feed you, you look deep into my eyes (melts my heart!)

*you wear mainly onesies in this summer heat.  most are newborns size.

you have moved up to a size 1 diaper.

*you are the best cuddler!

you're like a little ball curled up on my chest.

*I have to grit my teeth sometimes so I won't squeeze you too hard.

I could eat. you. up!!

You have enriched our lives so much!

We are a complete family.

Please don't grow up too fast little Levi.

Momma loves you so so much!! 

Sweet Gift

My mom's friend Jammie was so kind to make a sweet gift for Levi.
I think this towel is so precious and I appreciate that it's homemade!

Just a Swingin'

Levi really enjoys the swing.  

He is mesmerized by the mirror and the mobile directly above.

Oh, and no matter how many times we fix his head, he will immediately put it right back in the same spot.

When Jacob noticed Levi was swinging, he wanted to sit next to him and swing too, so he grabbed his rocker.  So sweet.

Jacob was on his way to taking a bath, thus no shorts.  :)

Little Levi

I saw this little onesie and just had to have it.  :)

All Clean!

Levi does so well during a bath.  

I love wrapping him up in the baby towel and then greasing him up like a little piggy with Baby Magic.  :)

There is nothing like the smell of a clean baby.  :)

One of these days, he will take up the entire changing table.  

Right now he lays perfectly in the middle.  

Jacob loves to hold Levi.

I got all of this for $19! 

The blue ceramic square bowl on the right was regularly $29.99 itself!  Hello $6 bucks!

I cannot wait to pull these out next year!

I will seriously need a room for my seasonal merchandise if I continue to hit the 80% off sales!

My sweet friend Sharon in Florida sent Levi a package with these precious outfits inside.

I appreciate that she thought of both Kris and I.

The one on the left says "Daddy's MVP" and the other says "Bananas Over Mommy".

New Summer Show

Since the summer is full of reruns and I'm on an 11wk maternity leave, I thought I'd give this new show that recently premiered a try.  We have watched 3 episodes, and we have actually enjoyed it.

I had a feeling if it had Betty White in it, it must be funny.  

If you're looking for a new show this summer, give it a try.

Oh, and it's recorded in front of a live studio audience.  

Which is so old school and another reason why I like it.  :)

Love a Sleeping Baby!

How precious is this?!

He's been doing a lot of this, but I guess that's what newborns do.

Luckily, he's a good sleeper at night too.  

LOVE HIM!!

Why oh Why?!

It's no secret, I have wavy/semi curly hair - thanks Dad.

If I want straight hair, I have to use a straight iron.

Growing up, I always wanted straight hair, and was so jealous of girls who did.  

I hate that I have to work at it to get it - wish it came naturally.  

Since my c-section was scheduled, I was able to "get ready". 

I looked so rough in the hospital pictures after having Jacob (hello, labored  for 15hrs!), so I purposely got up at 4am to shower, apply makeup and straighten hair!

sidenote:  had to be at the hospital at 5:30am

While in the operating room before the surgery began, I felt hot and light headed.

The nurse asked if I wanted a cool wash cloth for my head - indeed!!

After surgery, after post op recovery, I came out looking like this:

FOR REAL!?!?!

I got exactly what I didn't want:  a hot mess of hair!!

I'm glad I was able to provide a few laughs to my mom, sister and Kris.

One word:  sheesh!!!

Right where I belong...

...with my two sons  :)

Dreaming of Hot Dogs

We had a full house yesterday for lunch with family and so it was a long day for this little guy.

Around 6pm after everything had settled, we found him in our room - this time he didn't make it to the bed, the floor was just fine.  Love that he is cuddling the (pretend) mustard.   

Happy 4th of July!

Nothing says July 4th like lovin' on some ice cream.

Levi has a matching onesie and I'm so sad I didn't get his picture made in it before we had to change him.
