Hard Day

Today was the first of many crews coming into our new home to make a few upgrades. The hardwood was installed in the foyer and dining room - it looks great!! So happy that we went with the darker wood. I guess this particular crew needed a little help getting through the day, as seen in the evidence below.

Weekend with Meme

My mom (Meme) came up this weekend. She was so kind to help us clean our new house. We started Saturday with chocolate gravy - Jacob's 1st time eating it. No, I've never made it, nor do I like it. Meme made me my own batch of white gravy for my biscuits. :)

Then called it a day, and went home to take a bath - Meme style. :)

p.s. here is our new neighbor. Yes, he is standing on his hind legs. Great.

Nite Nite

For the past 2 nights, Jacob has told us he's ready to go "nite nite". Kris walks him to the bedroom and I hear, "I wanna give Momma kiss". So Jacob comes running out to the living room all puckered up and gives me sugars, then walks back. Then I hear "I wanna give Momma hug". So he comes running back out again, gives me a big squeeze, then back to the bedroom. Of course, I have the biggest smile on my face and just L.O.V.E it!! So sweet! My little man, I could just eat him up!

The Three Musketeers

Good times were had last night at Meme's house. The cousins were playing well together, thank goodness. They were sharing Jacob's tricycle, actually they would ride each other around, with one sitting on the back - see below. They took turns and loved it, and when I say "they", I mean Jacob & Kate. Poor little Luke, always an observer. He'll catch up soon!

Speaking of Luke... Here he is saying "Hi Aunt Sissy"

When we mentioned bubble bath, they all 3 ran toward the tub. They could not wait for it to fill up! They were so excited!! I wish I had gotten a picture of the three naked bums standing in front of the tub - so cute. They all hiked one leg over trying to get in! I was able to catch them in all their glory after the bath, returning to where they left off. Oh yeah... on the bike.

I know they will appreciate this when they're older. :)

Good Gravey!

I love, I mean LOVE my mother's biscuits and gravy. She makes white gravy from scratch and I can remember eating it all the time growing up and I never got tired of it. What a way to start your day with biscuits and gravy. When I go to their home, she still makes it for me. Jacob and I were there last weekend, and she made it for us and we both enjoyed it! I thought I would give it a try last night, so we had breakfast for dinner. I did have to make a few phone calls to make sure I was doing it right. But I must say, for my first time, it was delish. I called mom and told her she might have some competition. I kept reminding Kris, not only did I cook, but made it from scratch! Thanks Mom!

Make you Smile

Our Jacob continues to make us laugh, and surprises us with his growing vocabulary. He's saying words we didn't even know he knew. I just can't believe he is a little boy and not my baby anymore. We are loving this age and cannot wait for the years to come. Here's proof there's a lot of smiles in our home.

Funny Jacob Stories

Kris took Jacob to daycare this morning, they had an interesting conversation in the car:

J: Daddy I'm hungry
K: OK, you'll get breakfast when we get to school
J: I want chicken

Tonight I was giving Jacob a bath:

Me: Washing Jacob's legs
J: Careful mommy, my peepee

And lastly, tonight I was ironing my clothes, and I heard Jacob say Cheerios, I want Cheerios. I got there a little too late as seen below. At least he had the thought to grab a plate.

Weekend Recap

I was off Friday, so Jacob and I headed to Dardanelle to stay the weekend with Meme and Papaw. Jacob stayed very busy. He got to ride in Papaw's "big schwuck" (truck), ride the 4-wheeler, go up Mt. Nebo, go to their church, and lunch at Dixie Cafe. We are back home and he is still going non-stop. Here are a few pictures of our fun times:

While I was packing our bag, Jacob came across my pound puppy that I bought in 1986 with allowance. I slept with this puppy every night, finally broke myself of it once I got married. I ain't lying. It was so cute to see Jacob sleep with it. He was cuddled up with him (oh, his name is Clint from a former church camp crush) last night, I wanted to take a picture so bad, but I knew it would wake him up.

Finally in Papaw's truck. There's his little head peaking out.

It looks like he is puckering up here.

Reaching to blow the loud horn.

On his way to help Papaw change the oil.

One of many 4-wheeler rides.

Papaw in his sunglasses.
On our way to the top.

Walking around the visitor's center at Mt. Nebo.
And now running.

With Meme & Papaw and the beautiful view.

Another view.

Mother and Me. She got her haircut that day, very cute.

We saw lots of deer.

Papaw talking to a local.

The beautiful sunset.

How else to end the night but with a milkshake.
